Free, independent guides. Not official support for Norton, McAfee, Microsoft or any manufacturer.

About PC Solve Guide

A free, independent publication that explains common PC problems in plain language.

What we offer

PC Solve Guide publishes free, step-by-step guides. That is all we do. Most of our guides deal with computer security: recognising and removing malware with the tools built into Windows, recovering from ransomware, spotting scam pop-ups and fake renewal emails, and self-help troubleshooting for popular antivirus software such as Norton, McAfee and Microsoft Defender. We also cover everyday problems such as a slow PC, an offline printer and Wi-Fi that will not load anything.

What we do not offer

We do not sell or provide technical support, repairs, software installation, virus removal, data recovery or remote-access services. We have no phone line, we do not sell software, and nothing on this site needs to be downloaded or installed. Every article is free to read without an account.

If a page claiming to be PC Solve Guide asks you to call a number, install something or pay for a "fix", it is not us.

Who runs this site

PC Solve Guide is published by REPLACE: your name or registered business name, based in REPLACE: City, Country. You can reach the editor at contact@pcsolveguide.info.

Independence

PC Solve Guide is not Norton (Gen Digital), McAfee, Microsoft, a printer manufacturer, an internet provider or any other company whose products we mention, and none of them pays us. Brand names appear only so you can identify the product a guide is about, or to compare products fairly. Every guide about a specific product links to that company's official support website for account, billing and subscription questions. Our articles contain no affiliate links.

How we write an article

  • Start with the checks that are quickest and least likely to cause harm.
  • Explain what a step does before asking you to do it.
  • Flag any step that changes important settings, and suggest a backup first.
  • Keep general advice separate from steps that only apply to one manufacturer.
  • Point you to the manufacturer's official website when a problem goes beyond general self-help.
